Crab Hush-Puppies

Serves: 6-8 servings
 
Ingredients
  • 16 ounces of fresh lump crabmeat
  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 2 TBSP sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup beer
  • 1 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup chopped green bell pepper
Instructions
  1. Mix together the dry ingredients and wet ingredients in separate bowls. Now add the wet to the dry and mix well. Heat your oil to 375 and drop spoonfuls of batter in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown 1-2 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to drain and season with more salt.
